2501 GROVE STREET

2501 Grove Street Residences
Denver, Colorado

The goal was to create a contemporary residential setting in an older urban neighborhood, adjacent to the Witter and Cofield historic district. 2501 Grove Street is a complex created on the historic footprint of the Romanesque St. Dominic’s Church and School, built in 1890.

In total there are thirteen residences, six units on the renovated main floor feature 12-foot ceilings and exposed-brick walls. Upper- story flats, of new construction, include 18-foot vaulted ceilings, mezzanines and generous rooftop decks. In first-floor flats, doors lead to individual patios, all of which flow into a secure, communal, landscaped courtyard.

The team incorporated several design/architectural features at 2501 Grove Street to both retain its historic feel and give the complex new vitality.

Project completed as Principal, and designer at SBD.
